Hi Mitsu,

Very welcome in the German group of Fiat 126 maniacs....

Hello, I assume that your Fiat 500 has no return of the fuel line!
As a rule, the return of the carburetor can bei shot, because it needs the return only if problems with steam bubbles in the supply line appear.

So if the brass connector in the carburetor cap is no longer tight, it can be tightened by either heating the cap and cooling the connector.
But it would also be possible to leave the tube out completely and cut a suitable thread in the cover. Then glue a screw with sealant and completely close the return.

Greetings from Bavaria,
Werner

By the way, just post some pictures from your 500..
Because we are very interested to see the 500 in Japan

Fuel overflow return nozzle

My name is Mitsu and I live in Japan. I am writing to you because I
need your help. I own a FIAT 500F with a Fiat 126 engine (650CC) and a TYP 28S1A
carburetor (made in Poland). A few days ago, after driving, the engine
compartment was filled with the smell of fuel. Then I noticed that the fuel
overflow return nozzle on the carb was missing. In my car, this nozzle was not
in use and was closed. I am not sure how it is closed. My question is whether
there is a nozzle available that will fit into this hole. If not, how can I
prevent the fuel from overflowing out of this hole, if anyone knows, I would
appreciate it. Please let me know. Mitsu
